The great town of Ota was agog with festival-like celebration on the 10^th of May as Oba (Prof.) Abdukabir Adeyemi Obalanlege received the staff of office at his coronation as the Olota of Ota. The nation’s no. 1 original prayer drink, Seamans Aromatic Schnapps was on hand to felicitate with the monarch at his coronation ceremony which had in attendance, numerous dignitaries including the Executive Governor of Ogun state, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and more.

Before assuming office, the Olota of Ota was a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication, and the Sub-Dean, College of Arts, Social, Management Sciences(CASMAS), Crescent University, Abeokuta. 2. The New Olota of Ota is a trained journalist who has worked with top media houses both locally and internationally eventually rising to the position of editor of City Vanguard newspaper, Ireland. He held this position for 12 solid years.

4. At 51 years of age, he is among the youngest living monarchs in Nigeria.
5. He has authored numerous books and journals which have been widely read.
6. He is blessed with children. His eldest son, following his father’s footsteps, is currently studying for a Ph.D in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Queen’s University, Belfast after bagging a Masters in Engineering in the same institution.
