Double Tragedy: Man killed during father’s burial in Edo

Gunmen have reportedly killed a 35-year- old man, Bobby Usiobaifo, during the burial activities of his late father, Mr. Abel Usiobaifo in Benin, the Edo State capital.

'Bobby was shot dead shortly after performing the social dance of the burial ceremony at Osariemen Street, Evbuotubu quarters in Egor Local Government.'  

'It was gathered that the deceased was eating outside with some of his friends when the gunmen struck.' 

His elder brother, who craved anonymity, said he heard several gun shots and that when he looked through the window, he saw the gunmen.

The brother said he went into hiding to avoid the gunmen firing at him but later raised alarm when he saw the lifeless body of his brother after the gunmen had gone.

When contacted, the Edo State Police Commissioner, Haliru Gwandu, said he was yet to be briefed on the incident.
