Ronaldo to face prison sentence after being accused of tax fraud

Real Madrid forward, Cristiano Ronaldo is being accused of tax fraud.

Spanish prosecutors are considering whether the player should face charges over the allegations.

Spain’s tax agency are claiming that Ronaldo defrauded the authorities of €15million between 2011 and 2014.

Prosecutors said they have until the end of June to decide whether to charge the Portugal captain, based on evidence from an investigation by tax officials.

Ronaldo attempted to regularise his tax situation in Spain in 2014. by paying an extra €5.6m, but the tax office says he should have paid a further €15m.
