Police Arrest Abuja Serial Car Thief Again, Months After Finishing Jail Term

The Nigerian police in Abuja apprehended a serial car thief on Wednesday while he attempted to steal a Toyota Camry 2000 model car with a master key from where it was parked at NAICO office, Central Business District, Abuja.

The police said the suspect named as Emmanuel Lere, 34 years, had just served a jail term for a similar offence and was released three months back in March, 2017.

The FCT police spokesman, Usen Omorodion, said the suspect was in custody assisting with ongoing investigation.

“FCT command warns car thieves to stay away from the FCT as we will continually suppress their nefarious acts,” he said.
