Constitution amendment: Senators voted not in the interest of Nigeria but to keep their mini thrones – Shehu Sani

Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, on Friday berated his colleagues over their voting pattern on the ongoing constitution amendment.
Sani said some Senators voted not in the interest of Nigerians but to keep their “mini thrones of power.”
In a post on his Facebook page, the lawmaker maintained that his colleagues “feared more of what will befall them than what will befall the country.”
He wrote, “My observation during the constitutional amendment is that many parliamentarians didn’t vote in line with their conscience or national interest; most voted in line with their sectional, religious, ethnic or political interests.
“Many are first more interested in preserving their mini thrones of power than saving the country or making it better. They fear more of what may befall them than what may befall their country.

“Consequence is the compass of their thumb.”

  1. “Nigeria is politically, socially and economically structured by Hausa Fulani oligarchs and cabals in the corridors of power supported by their collaborators - British Government to cater for the interest of the very few political criminals and poorly educated few at the top who answer to the title of 'elite' with absolutely nothing to offer or show for it. They represent the worst form of mediocrity and arrested development.
