Lagos Police PRO reacts to reports that the state acting police commissioner, Imohimi Edgal, has been demoted

A report by Sahara Reporters claims that the acting commissioner of police in Lagos state, Imohimi Edgal, has been demoted. The Police Service Commission in a letter dated October 8, 2017, and titled: Withdrawal of Acting Appointment", allegedly reversed the position

s of Lagos acting commissioner of police and that of Kogi state,  Aji Ali Janga to Deputy Commissioners of Police.

IB reached out to the state police public relations officer, Olarinde Famous-Cole, to authenticate this report. According to Famous-Cole, the state command still has Imohimi as its commissioner and that if he is to be removed from office, it would be made official.

"Lagos state police commissioner still has the Commissioner of police as the acting CP, Imohimi Edgal. When the CP became the acting Commissioner of Police in Lagos state, it was official. If there is going to be any change, it would be official" he said
