Donald Trump reacts after New York attack, vows to step up "extreme vetting"

Donald Trump said he has ordered the Department of Homeland Security to step up its extreme vetting program following a vehicle attack in New York on Tuesday that left eight people dead.

Trump took to Twitter to make this known shortly after a man driving a pickup truck ploughed through a bike path in lower Manhattan in an "act of terror".
Trump tweeted: "I have just ordered homeland security to step up our already extreme vetting program. Being politically correct is fine, but not for this!"

In initial comments, Trump wrote on Twitter: "In NYC, looks like another attack by a very sick and deranged person. Law enforcement is following this closely. NOT IN THE U.S.A.!"
"We must not allow ISIS to return, or enter, our country after defeating them in the Middle East and elsewhere. Enough!" Trump wrote in another tweet.

First lady, Melania Trump, also took to Twitter to react to the attack, saying: "My heart breaks for #NYC today. Thoughts & prayers as we monitor the situation."
Trump’s also expressed his condolences for the victims, saying: "My thoughts, condolences and prayers to the victims and families of the New York City terrorist attack. God and your country are with you!"
Trump's initial tweets were posted shortly after the attack took place. The White House said Trump was briefed on the attack by his chief of staff, John Kelly.
The US President isn't done addressing the attack via his official Twitter account. This time, he's blaming the Democrats and the Democratic Party Senator Chuck Schumer who he said brought the terrorist into the US through the "Diversity Visa Lottery Program".
Trump wrote: "The terrorist came into our country through what is called the "Diversity Visa Lottery Program," a Chuck Schumer beauty. I want merit based."
He said in another tweet: "Senator Chuck Schumer helping to import Europes problems" said Col.Tony Shaffer. We will stop this craziness! @foxandfriends".
