Shun Get-Rich-Quick Syndrome – DG tells Corps Members

Corps Members have been advised to imbibe diligence, perseverance and honesty as necessary pre-requisites for success.

NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General Sulaiman Kazaure, stated this today in continuation of his Orientation Camp tour to Rivers State Orientation Camp, Nonwa-Gbam, in Tai Local Government area of the State.

He said no one is immuned against success, but there are procedures to follow in order not to run into crisis.

While addressing Corps Members from Akwa-Ibom, Bayelsa and Rivers states, Kazaure also urged them to utilise the opportunities of the Orientation Exercise to add value to themselves in order to become responsible leaders of today and tomorrow.

He urged them to avoid any act that can spoil their reputation, families' or bring the good image of the Scheme into disrepute.

The DG also used the forum to caution the female Corps Members against indecent dressing.

'Be security conscious, avoid night party and unauthorized journey. Work very hard, try your best and let God crown your efforts', General Kazaure said.

Rivers State Coordinator, Mr Sunday Aroni, in his address commended the State Government for providing new hostels for Corps Members and Camp officials.

He added that the Scheme's management at the State level has acquired a new 6.5 KVA generator, lawn mowing machine, engines for three 5 KVA power generating sets among others, for effective service delivery during Orientation periods.

The Coordinator added that the Corps Members have adapted to the Orientation Camp environment and are well behaved.

A total of 2,369 Corps Members were registered for 2017 Batch 'B' stream Two in Rivers State Orientation camp, which is made up of 583 for Akwa-Ibom, 495 for Bayelsa and 1,291 for Rivers state.
