Graphic: Woman and her mother brutally hacked and almost beheaded by her husband after she tried to leave him over domestic abuse

A woman and her mother were brutally hacked by her husband, Mr Iyen Igiebor in Edo State when she attempted to leave him on account of domestic abuse.

A man who claims to be the victim's elder brother,  took to Facebook to share photos from the attack.

''Please join me to celebrate the goodness of God in my family, God delivered my younger sister from the haand of her evil husband who tried to kill her. he wrote.

Another Facebook user, Jefferson Uwoghiren said the incident happened at the weekend in Ikpoba Hill Area of Benin City.

"This deranged animal, Mr Iyen Igiebor attempted to decapitate his wife and mother inlaw in Ikpoba Hill Area of Benin City following the wife's decision to move away from the abusive relationship. A library is going to be thrown at him!!!!"
