Every ticking second, someone somewhere in Nigeria is infected with Hepatitis and anyone who comes in contact with the blood or bodily fluids of an infected person is also at risk.
Hepatitis is a viral infection of the liver that can cause short and life-long disease, in some cases, death. The most common types of this disease in Nigeria is Hepatitis A and B.

Do you know that WHO estimates about 1.4m cases of Hepatitis each year and records about 600,000 deaths? Wait for it, 2 billion people worldwide are estimated to have been infected at some point in their lives.

Hepatitis is one of the most common travel-related illnesses in the world? Sadly, Africa is marked as one of the high risk areas for contacting Hepatitis and everyone, irrespective of age or gender is prone to the disease and shockingly, a lot of infected persons are not even aware.

Today as the world marks ‘World Hepatitis Day’, together, let us take action against Hepatitis; let us protect ourselves and loved ones from getting infected.
