President Buhari and the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Bola Tinubu, on Monday evening met briefly at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. According to sources within the
presidency, the meeting was a closed door one and the agenda wasn't made known to anyone.
The meeting however took place a night before the APC governorship primaries where the state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, will fight for a return ticket to the government house in 2019. There are rumors that while Ambode has the backing of the presidency to seek a second term, his political godfather, is opposed to his return to office and has publicly endorsed Jide Sanwo-Olu.
The APC primaries will take place today.
