In a bid to avert any crisis, the Nasarawa State Police Command has deployed scores of security operatives around a crucifix appeared a few weeks ago about five feet away from the Assakio Central Mosque in the Assakio development area of Lafia Local Government Area of the state.
The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Abubakar Bello, dropped the hint in an interview shortly after he (Bello) visited the scene of the incident.
Bello, who also visited the paramount ruler of the town, HRM Osula Inarigu, called on the people to live in peace with one another, describing peace as a catalyst for even and rapid development.
He admonished them not to allow the illuminated cross to cause any controversy, noting that his men had been deployed to maintain law and order.
On his part, the monarch urged his people to embrace one another, irrespective of differences in religious inclinations.
