National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) Friday dismissed claims that late Ifedolapo Oladepo died of a strange disease.
It insisted that the late corps member died as a result of protracted illness.
The NYSC claims was contrary to counterclaim that the victim was suffocated with a strange disease which she developed during the regimental exercise in Kano.
The late Oladapo an indigene of Oshogbo in Osun state reportedly died during the ongoing batch C 2016 orientation exercise holding at Karaye camp, about 50km from Kano.
A management staff of NYSC in Kano who prefer anonymity told the reporters that Oladepo was discovered with earlier illness when she was presented before the camp clinic contrary to insinuation.
The source equally denied the rumour that the victim died in orientation camp.
According to the source “The corps member did not carry any disease from camp and for the purpose of emphasis; she did not die in camp.”
Although the nature of the sickness was not disclosed, it was learnt that the late corps member was initially admitted for treatment by NYSC doctors, but later referred to Gwarzo general hospital after some complications.
Information gathered revealed she was discharged for fitness back to camp soonest. Few days after she was rushed back to the General hospital where she finally passed on.
“We try all possible best to save her life but we finally lost him. Our doctors on camp did their best before taken her to the hospital it’s unfortunate she did not survive it,” the source disclosed.
