IPOB has invited the DSS and police to its Trump solidarity rally in Port Harcourt

The Indigenous People of Biafra has invited the Department of State Services and the Nigeria police to its planned rally in Port Harcourt, Rivers state.
The group in a letter dated January 18, said it was formally inviting the security operatives to its peaceful solidarity rally for the United States of America President-elect Donald Trump.“On that momentous day, we shall match for peace,
justice, equity and love in order to demonstrate our penchant for peace and justice and to welcome civil and pragmatic democracy anywhere we find it,” IPOB said.

The group also added that the aim of the rally is to demonstrate tenacious understanding for the value of peace.
“We therefore stand to live by example and ask you to join us to embrace the peaceful event marking this historic day,” the IPOB said in its letter signed by Emma Nmezu and Clifford Iroanya, spokespersons for the group.
Also copied in the letter are the inspector general of police, Amnesty International, European Union, ECOWAS, British Embassy, American Embassy, Inter-society, Traditional rulers, National Judicial Council, Nigerian Union of Journalists and National Students Union Government.
In a different letter also dated January 18 and titled: “Permission letter”, the IPOB also sought the permission of the security agencies to embark on the peaceful protest.
The group said: “We seek for your permission to assist us in maintaining law and order and to wade off criminals who may want to create crisis to tarnish the hard-earned IPOB image and also see how peaceful we shall conduct ourselves as always.”

“We are law abiding people as we have proven countless times and we will always maintain peace as its concerns law and justice,” IPOB said.
The group had over the weekend announced its plan to embark on an IPOB-Trump solidarity rally on Thursday, January 20.
