A House of Representatives member, Garba Durbunde, who was abducted early Tuesday has regained freedom.
The spokesperson of the House, Abdulrazak Namdas, confirmed this development to NE on Wednesday evening.
He said the lawmaker has been released and since reunited with his family.
“He has been released unhurt and is with his family,” Mr. Namdas said.
When asked if any ransom was paid before he was released, Mr. Namdas said,
“I learnt he wasn’t the actual target so he was released without any ransom.”
Mr. Durbunde, who represents Sumaila/Takai federal constituency, was kidnapped early Tuesday along Kaduna- Jere road on his way to Kano from Abuja.
