Gov Amosun Warns Leaders That Posterity Will Judge them

As the nation marked its 57th Independence Day, the Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, has called on leaders at all levels of governance to provide quality leadership, saying posterity would judge them at the end of the day.
The governor said this in his speech at the MKO International Stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta, the usual venue where the state government held the 2017 annual Independence Day celebration.

He also said it was regrettable that in recent times, the unity of Nigeria was being threatened by hate speeches, which, he said, were capable of throwing the country into a crisis.

He added that in order not to allow the labour of the founding fathers of the nation to be in vain, Nigerians must guard the unity they fought for and not allow it to slip away.

He said, “We, as leaders, must also continue to provide quality leadership at our various levels of authority. As leaders, we have to remain accountable to the people. We must be good managers of the resources entrusted to us.

“As we continue to tackle myriads of challenges confronting our nation, let us keep in view the legacy that we want to leave behind in the minds of the people, and, the way we want posterity to judge us.
