By all standards, the death, burial Ceremony and celebration of life of Late Ezinne Eunice Nwarulo Ololo popularly called ‘Starmother’ by all and sundry while
alive was truly a carnival for the life and time of an unequalled and caring mother.
Late Mama Eunice Ololo, aged 87 years was the mother of Chief Engr Chucks Ololo (Ome Nneji I of Owerri Zone) and Mother-in-law to the Deputy Chief of Staff Domestic Affairs and Supervisory Commissioner For Happiness and Purpose Fulfillment, Hon Mrs Ogechi Ololo (née Okorocha) , wife of Engr Chucks Ololo.
Other children of the Late Mama Eunice Ololo include Chief (Arch) Larry C Ololo and many others. She was also survived by grand children and great grand children.
She was born on December 22, 1931 and died peacefully in her sleep in the year 2018. She was 87 years. Her burial service at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Egbelu Obube, Owerri North LGA of Imo State, was attended by top Imo State and local government functionaries, traditional rulers, numerous number of clergy men, Rev. Sisters among other dignitaries, and not forgetting well wishers who had trooped out in their numbers in solidarity to the Ololo's family.
To fully celebrate the life of mama Eunice Ololo, her children who are major players in political, academic and business sectors rolled out drums to celebrate their Starmother. It was indeed a carnival of some sort. From the mortuary to the Church Funeral Service, Interment at the family compound, refreshments and entertainment that followed thereafter, at the School Field at the Egbelu Obube community was full of excitements , the crowd of sympathisers was amazing, cultural and traditional dance groups, solidarity from Friends, relatives and In-laws. it's truly a carnival.
The officiating priest, Rev. Fr. Camelus Egolu (Oti Mgbodomgbo Jesus), Parish Priest, Rev Fr Jude Ihejieto in sermon titled, ‘Heaven” enjoined the congregation which includes top government functionaries, Captains of Industries, Diplomats, Chairman Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers, members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Imo State, to use their positions to make life meaningful to others and serve God if they are to make heaven.
While commending the children for their cares for mama while alive, he asked them to emulate the worthy life she lived and that they should use their positions to serve God and impact on others.
He used the opportunity during the sermon to admonish Nigerians to jettison all divisive tendencies and work earnestly for peace and unity of the country.
